There's background noise on your mic

20:47
Please may you pop the slides in full screen

21:12
You might want to ask people to mute themselves..

21:21
Yes

21:22
yes

21:23
YES

21:25
Or the host can mute all

21:31
Can you force mute for everyone please?

36:34
Will you be sharing the ppt bullet points?

38:04
we shall

38:40
will that include the chat / any Q&A?

39:23
We are recording the meeting only

39:45
I am not certain the meaning of SCOPE

39:51
Because every question have the word limitation, how we put the reference into the answer better? Is the reference should write like academic format?

42:57
Are the appendices weighted equally to the word limited question?

43:08
Sorry, did you just say that subcontractors are not allowed?

43:17
Can anyone recall what tip number 4 was?

43:43
Yes - I heard that? Thought you had to have sub contractors NOT partners?

43:51
Read the Guidance for Applicants is number 4

43:59
thanks

44:34
I though you could have sub contractors

45:02
Angela advised that sub-contractors are allowed, Giulia advised that sub-contractors are not allowed?

45:08
I’ve just been in the Jonny Voon webinar where I am sure he said that subcontractors were not only allowed but that there is no limit on what % of the budget (as there is in the temporary framework)

45:35
Normally you can use sub-contractors. Need to be UK based or properly justified if non-UK.

46:40
please define what is meant by SCOPE of a project

47:35
Can you include sweat equity and employee costs for the same project? This is common where the directors/sharholders don't take a wage but they still employ a small team in the business.

47:39
How deep is expected to be the PM description of workflow/tasks

48:33
Is it better to use short bulleted text rather than full sentences in the section? Bullets are probably easier for the assessor but easier to explain using flowing text.

49:00
Is it useful to answer questions with bullet points answering each point specifically or is it better to have a free flow (essay style)

49:51
How do we find a EEN/KTN assessor to send the application to?

51:07
you are incorrect on the subcontractor usage.. please check..

51:13
jONNNY VOON CONFIRMED YOU CAN USE SUBCONTRACTORS IN THE Q&A TODAY

51:20
We were advised in the webinar with Jonny Voon that we can have subcontractors

51:24
In this call, sub-contractors are NOT allowed is what I just heard.

51:45
As mentioned by someone else, I thought that in this call we can include sub-contractors?

51:48
Hi Sarah, https://www.enterprise-europe.co.uk/contact-us and https://ktn-uk.co.uk/contact with an overview of your innovation project so the best adviser can be identified

51:59
I am now confused about subcontractors. Please clair

52:00
THAT'S DEFINITELY INCORRECT -IT WAS ONLY CONFIRMED OVERNIGHT SO I THINK THEY HAVEN'T COMMUNICATED TO THIS TEAM

52:09
You can include subcontractors in Round 2 of the Sustainable Innovation Fund

52:25
Thank you Charlotte...

52:31
There was a change overnight and you do not need an open procurement process

52:47
We were also advised that there is no 30% limit for subcontractors. So as long as you can justify the requirement you’re good

55:35
In the Round 1 call, it was confirmed that startups (including pre-registration) were fundable. Is this still the case for Round 2?

56:41
Agree Andrew: as an early stage company we need to engage key people whom we have already identified on short term contracts at day rates. who we plan to invite joi join as permanent employees as a result of the Innovate programme Form is difficult 232 x x = #500 = #116 Key Specialists in certain areas go out at #200K. You have to enter annual rate and then the hours per the work packages to get the actual amount to be paid.

57:05
is there a definition of sustainability? it actually means enduring but has been interpreted recently as ‘to do with the environment’ ...if that’s the aim does innovate define environment?

57:48
It's economic sustainability too

57:56
Confused with May 21 date -- can you expang

59:59
Do you have any advice on applying for multiple rounds of the Sustainable Innovation Fund? We applied for Round 1, and in theory should hear back at the end of Aug, giving us time to submit Round 2 before the deadline if we’re unsuccessful in Round 1. Should we wait that long, or just submit earlier?

01:00:44
Hi Sarah, there is also the plan for Round 3, so you could wait for feedback and give yourself time to incorporate changes.

01:01:33
In the Round 1 Q&A it was stated that funds might be brought forward into Rounds 1 and 2 if lots of demand; is there a guarantee there will be much left for Round 3? Also we haven’t yet seen the criteria for Round 3!

01:01:41
Thanks Charlotte - will the funding amounts/% costs covered be the same as Round1 ?

01:02:03
Can you offer access to sector regulations such as furniture?

01:02:16
@charlotte Is round 3 likely to have similar allowable project costs & funding levels to 1 or is It much smaller like round 2

01:02:17
How do you access the support Gordon is sharing?

01:04:03
Does the access to the EEN support kick in after an applicant has been successful in he competition?

01:04:23
@njay like Round 3, but the scope and eligibility has yet to be published. It will be again like Round 1 under Temporary Framework and for collaborative projects.

01:04:58
@Sylvie contacts and email will be shared in the last slide

01:05:21
Thanks!

01:05:27
Am also really interested to hear advice about applying for multiple rounds.

01:06:09
As this is de minimis I would be interested to know what projects in the agriculture sphere are eligible as usually there is a caveat around not giving companies funding via this opportunity a competitive advantage over other EU countries in terms of agricultural productivity.

01:06:46
Please can you now clarify about subcontractors.

01:07:15
Please clarify about sub-contractors.

01:07:22
Advice for applying for multiple rounds would be great

01:07:39
Hi, can you clarify if you apply for round 3 and also subsequent rounds or just 1 round of funding per project? Also can you claim for R&D? thanks

01:08:22
Hi. Can we apply in round 2 or 3 of one scheme, if we cannot apply inn round 1?

01:11:18
Will the size of impact and market be compared - one project against another?

01:11:39
About re-application, I believe I read that the same projects can be re-submitted 1 time. That would imply Round 1 & 2 but not 3, or perhaps Round 1 & 3.

01:12:52
Does Innovation have to be some groundbreaking new technology or can a new app that either improves an existing experience be considered innovating.. Eg Facebook verses Myspace… not new tech (AI, Robotics etc) but a better mousetrap so to speak

01:13:32
Which financial information do the assessors see? Do they see the finance excel or just the answer to the 'Costs' question?

01:14:47
any help for resubmitting? if we fail first attempt

01:15:23
Yes - specific provisions for Directors. Please check Q&A session from the KTN

01:17:38
By definition a disruptive technology doesn't have a market size - how is this viewed by the assessor ?

01:17:42
If unsuccessful will we get a chance to see feedback from round one before the deadline for round 2?

01:21:05
@jamesWillmott - feedback will received by all applicants. However, feedback on round 1 may be received after round 2 submission. Please check submission deadlines

01:21:08
What is the approximate % of 'pass rate' ?

01:21:37
Any businesses are aloowed including start-ups

01:22:53
for the innovate area, if we use AI to tack the wellbeing issue, which innovate area we choose better? Because it has a “wellbeing” category, but what we worried is that the accessor should be different from AI expert. Please suggest?

01:23:10
Any feedback on how many applicants there were for the 1st round that closed on 28 July?

01:23:28
To lead a project your organisation must:be a UK registered business of any sizecarry out its project work in the UKbe able to carry out project work under the current restrictions of COVID-19intend to exploit the results from or in the UK

01:23:57
If Round 1 is over subscribed, and round 2 undersubscribed will good entries be automatically TAKEN TO ROUND 2

01:24:51
How ring-fenced will project details be? Concerned about disclosure of very early-stage innovation. How much has to be put in the public statement?

01:25:12
Businesses must submit applications to be considered for the competition - a'MarkSanders

01:25:20
Thank you - very helpful.

01:25:47
Thank you..
