This is really devasting news to our industry. I keep wondering how we around the country are managing with virtually no real income until 2021 for if anything, just overhead. The positivity I hear is really baffling. But we will keep moving forward, as there is no other choice.

becky weber
27:37
It is very important to not only send letters but to email the staff and ask to set up a phone call! We have found verbal communication is most effective way for you all and professional lobbyists to give voice the desperate situation of your industry.

Warren Micale
48:12
How can a small company compete with the cut throat pricing of the larger companies? We try to sell the value of our service and safety, but the customers are only shopping price.
Andy Byars
49:06
Everything is pricepoint in the environment. Its unfortunately the norm for awhile :(
STEVE Cottle
50:12
CAN'T ASSUME EVERYONE IN THE MARKETPLACE KNOWS YOUR COMPANY....THEY MIGHT,,BUT THEY FORGET..WHY IS IT THAT WE SEE COCACOLA, FORD, CHEVROLET ALL THE TIME?? IMP'T TO BE PRO-ACTIVE..
Paige Balsinger
50:30
I think cleanliness and how you communicate that will be more important than price.
Rich Broughton
50:36
Right on Steve

Warren , there is a reason Tiffany is in business. Zales exists, but Tiffany has a reputation for an amazing experience & one of a kind merchandise. Be different be better.
Bob Crawford
51:04
If you are not a semi professional salesperson how should we deal with our customers on a selling basis?
Ken Presley
51:08
Always remember that prospective customers are looking for the best perceived value. They know there is probably someone cheaper.
STEVE Cottle
54:10
A SELLING POINT FOR A SMALL COMPANY IS THE OPPORTUNITY TO TRULY BE ON A PERSONAL SERVICE LEVEL. LOT OF TIME, A CLIENT COMMUNICATES WITH THE OWNER..NOT SO WITH LARGE COMPANIES..ALSO, EVALUATE YOUR POINTS THAT MAKE YOUR COMPANY DIFFERATN(BETTER) THAN THE BIG GUY.
United Motorcoach Association
55:49
It's important to educate your prospective customers about what matters beyond price: service, hygiene, safety, experience. It's a great opportunity to add this information to a blog or to post about what you're doing on social media. Remind people why your company offers a higher value.
Robert Saucedo
56:13
Good point Jeff, and I see your point, however if we are selling the same exact bus, same year and quality, the customer will most of the time choose price before anything else. Until they give you the opportunity to show them what you have to offer, it becomes very difficult to get them.
james hey
56:36
Cash flow is not profit, it may be cheaper for you to leave your bus in the shed, as insurance companies are now requiring 100.00 per day to add back on for the day or adding insurance back on for the remainder of your policy
Mary Presley
57:10
MMA Just released a fantastic video of what our members are doing and using for them to share with all of their customers
Ken Presley
57:12
Remember, Congress deregulated the industry in 1982 to bring price and service competition to the motorcoach user. Nearly everyone in the motorcoach industry today entered the business as a result of economic deregulation.
John Kruger
58:40
We
Warren Micale

we suggest that the customer go to the FMCSA website and check the safety record of the companies they are looking at using.

Andy Byars
01:02:33
We have a lot of the sales skills already, what we don't have is the destinations open, the schools open the stadiums open, the race tracks open, the cruise ships operating. Its time to get creative.

Grand canyon national park will only allow 10 people per bus, including driver and guide. However, they still charge $300 admission. We have the government agencies working against us. Be careful everyone. We are becoming a communist country.
Matt Dance
01:06:39
In reality, our business has always been virtual selling. How many customers actually showed up to our lot to look at buses?
Rich Broughton

CALL, CONTACT THOSE THAT YOU'VE NEVER CONTACTED BEFORE OR GOTTEN BUSINESS FROM..EVEN THOUGH THE DIRECT BUSINESS(OBVIOUS BUSINESS) MAY NOT BE AVAILABLE, WEDDINGS, FUNERALS,CHURCH EVENTS, ARE STILL HAPPENING.
ERIC JONES
01:07:42
Selling a trip to 'where'? Colleges are shutting down sports, Professional sports in fall and winter won't be going. Theatres aren't opening up. Public Schools aren't going anywhere. Conventions may NEVER come back. Think I can get people to tour into Chicago? Doubtful. Tourist destinations are not open or restrictive, and older people are just more cautious. Selling a product no one can use is kind of tough.
Andy Byars
01:08:26
Agreed Eric
Rich Broughton
01:09:35
right on Eric same here even dealing with the DMC's and Convention planners they are shutting down or laying off employees as there markets are conventions
Andy Byars
01:09:35
We just have to get creative and unfortunately we are tunnel visioned on what we always did. Its time to create a new market.
Warren Micale
01:09:57
Selling only works if you have people who are looking to buy. Our political environment is scaring everyone to the point that they are unwilling to go anywhere.
Rhonda Bilbrey
01:10:36
There ARE places that WANT our tours. While it takes time and determination, DMO's out there are hungry for our business. Oh what joy,to find these gems, work together and make it HAPPEN! Leaving Monday on a 6-day tour! Praise God!
ERIC JONES
01:11:04
Maybe, Andy, but it is a 'bus' designed to transport 'people' from A to B. and I agree, Warren. People are scared but really, they are scared at not knowing what to be scared of.
United Motorcoach Association
01:11:17

Kevin makes a good point. It is important to start these coaches and move them in the yard and if needed perform some manual regens. We have had some clients surrender equipment recently and the unit hadn’t operated in 120 days and would not get to highway speed as the vehicle needed a forced regen.

Hello everyone. the renewal for insurance on the buses have doubled in North Carolina. Have anyone else experienced the increase. This is causing small companies to possibly shut downlast year it was 700 per month per bus . now this year it's 1250.00 per bus that's liability only . not including collision yet.Any one know why they have increased so drastically.
Trenton Stange
01:25:35
I answered them by asking what bank they would like me to leave the buses at.
steve yarborough
01:25:56
Try turning your tag in on buses that are not being used and you can drop liability on those. Just keep garage keepers until they roll again. Then re-register and insure.
