At gE digital, we were facing this issue of delivering a 5 day ILT bootcamp virtually to some remote locations dueto cost constraints and we ended up converting it into a 3 week MOOC type class, very successfully.
Andrew Barrett
24:26
Question: How did you manage situations where employees had responsibilities on the home front (e.g. caring for kids or a family member) that could take them away or distract them from the learning experience?
Ace VanWanseele
24:55
@vidya Thanks for sharing! What platform did you use for coordinating your MOOC successfully?
Susan Stocker
27:17
Rajon, Sandi - any change in class performance?
Dennen Hansen
27:18
Well done to you and your teams! Thanks so much for sharing!
Alma Martinez-Amen
28:54
Within our team, we're finding that the transition for content from in-person to digital is not a 1:1 ratio in terms of time needed. We have found that it actually takes longer to deliver the same level of quality. Have you experienced this as well?
Erin Lenahan
28:55
I’m wondering if you can say more about what you did to set expectations around staying present to ensure participants are “bought in”?
Sandi Friend
32:41
@Erin since these are new hire we remind them that their team is expecting them to know this information at the end of the week.
Ceil Tilney
44:15
"Moving instructor from delivery to inquiry" is the key to keeping engagement high. Great point to lead with!
vidya
47:13
Love the movie idea..

Building the community experience for engagement..
Rajon Tumbokon
48:14
As instructors “inquired” were responses Done mostly in chat or with verbal responses?
Katie Lunsford
01:09:01
Do you have an api that shares results, interactions, etc. from Qualtrics with your LMS or do you keep this data decentralized?
Katie Lunsford
01:09:39
What are your specific metrics for measuring success?
Rajon Tumbokon
01:09:41
Great presentation!!!!
Alma Martinez-Amen
01:09:47
Very helpful Jen! Loved the human-centric approach.
Dennen Hansen
01:09:56
So cool!
Hanah Yendler
01:10:17
Well, Jen was using Google docs as of a year ago, right? From what I remember...
Andrew Barrett
01:10:21
Question: Any thoughts on the more traditional digital learning authoring tools (e.g. Articulate, AdaptLearning, Adobe Captivate) to create self-paced learning experiences?
Erin Lenahan
01:10:22
Jen, this is so well done. Thank you so much for sharing!
Erica Jackson
01:10:28
I love the approach of making it the best training period. Great mindset sharing that with my team
Rajon Tumbokon
01:10:32
You showed a design example. Do you take a similar approach with engineers? How do you engage them with code and tooling?
Jaclyn Karnowski
01:13:01
Thanks for sharing your creative superpowers with us all.
Alma Martinez-Amen
01:14:18
Articulate's Rise 360 is pretty quick to turn around polished elearning.
Susan Stocker
01:15:40
thanks everyone! appreciate all the effort.
Kristian Ruggieri
01:16:28
@Jen - about how many people are going through this onboarding session together?
Katie Lunsford
01:17:15
For all: Beyond onboarding, how do you keep a pulse on your users' needs? (i.e. how do you know where you should spend your time developing new content or iterating existing content)?
Alma Martinez-Amen
01:18:10
@Katie, we're having that exact conversation right now on our team.
Alma Martinez-Amen
01:19:20
@Andrew: Smaller group sizes for us with video on.
jengilbert
01:19:44
Answered Kristian privately by mistake: There’s no real limit to our class sizes and they can be large, we’ve topped out at 100+ based on how many people were coming through. We do add more support in those cases (ratio is about 1:30), because the hands-on components do cause people to get stuck sometimes.
vidya
01:24:03
@Sandi What vendors/ platform you use for virtual environment/ labs?
Sandi Friend
01:26:41
@Vidya we use BlueJeans Events, BlueJeans and Teams depending on the size of the class
Kristian Ruggieri
01:26:53
Thank you!
Rajon Tumbokon
01:26:58
@vidya, we are currently looking into Github labs for code labs
Andrew Barrett
01:27:05
Thank you!
