My first qustion, if 15 July date not confirmed until 9 July, how do we get bookings from 15 July? And will it just be for Scottish tourists or all uk?
Mia Sabel Fodderty Lodge Cottages
37:13
still no support for us (self-catering start-up, not 140 days let, no business bank acc) : C

38:43
Still no support for us, we run a deer stalking holiday business. We have come up against barriers to everything we have applied for. Is this due to the sector we are in?
Hilary Lumsden
38:51
Me too Mia, was just short of 1 year before lockdown. Sadly no support as yet as don’t pay business rates or have business bank account I think. Given away so much personal financial information, but not told why not successful.
Fiona Hutchison
42:35
there was good insight on More or Less radio 4 this morning on current inbound quarantine. Basically it doesn't make sense.

43:05
How is the information announced tomorrow being distributed? Is there somewhere we can view it?
Eileen O’Farrell
43:10
Whats the plan for Sailing. Charters and Adventure sailing? thx
Stephanie Lee
44:21
more of a comment - I think its important the messaging around safety starts to evolve, I worry that the black and white nature of safe or not safe is dangerous, life is more nuanced and we have to build confidence in eating out, attending events when the time comes and feeling confident that Scotland (and the UK) offers world class experiences to the highest standards
Aileen
44:22
www.visitscotland.org is one of the best places to find very regular updates as is the Scottish Tourism Alliance website (where you should sign up to the STA daily email updates)
Emma Clark
44:40
Can each council area make these guidelines compulsory?
Eileen O’Farrell
45:06
How do we manage the reception in rural areas of Tourists? Will there be limits on numbers / countries allowed in to visit eg the Islands?
Aileen
45:32
The info from tomorrows announcements will be shared there, and also on the Scottish Governement website. For info on all current , and any future support for businesses check out the governement website FindBusinessSupport
JANE ALI-KNIGHT

Any discussion on support for young people (16-24 yr olds)? Especially graduates coming into the industry and those who rely on hospitality for part time work to support studies etc…
Benjamin Carey
51:53
One question please. Originally there was a vision that at least the COVID-19 crisis would create a "new normal" that's more sustainable and community-focused. But many in the industry are distressed and now seem determined to get back to "business as usual" as quickly as possible. Research suggests that the market would be supportive of change. Is Scotland missing an opportunity?
Katherine
52:21
Absolutely agree Benjamin
Carol Hassard
52:38
Rabbies are taking bookings from 1st August for some tours and implying on their website that they can socially distance. I find this very hard to believe on a vehicle that is 7.5 metres long. Any thoughts on this?
Emma Clark
55:19
we desperately want visitors but the capacity doesn’t allow for any tourism at all will the islands be given any financial help until calmac allow movement?
Hilary Lumsden
55:46
Insurers now writing no C19 cover into policies. Will personal injury law be able to seize opportunity in holiday accommodation, self catering in particular, if guests either contract C19 while staying or if host/cleaners contract C19 and track and trace can effectively lay ‘blame’? And would host carry cleaners liability too…?
juliemacinnes
57:29
Great questions Hilary and Emma. If we actually manage to attract people to islands then we can’t risk a lawsuit around covid - especially not a wee self catering cottage.
Benjamin Carey
58:13
I'm working with rural destinations in several countries. Host communities are all equally anxious about visitors bringing COVID-19. What's the best way for accommodation providers in Scotland to build confidence locally?
Fiona Hutchison
01:03:15
Any predictions around pattern for tourism this year once restrictions are lifted? A boom in what would usually be the non peak season- October to December? Opening up real time bookings data- transport, accommodation- will be valuable for destinations and smaller businesses to understand demand over the next 12 months.
Eileen O’Farrell
01:09:09
Can you expand on the Marine Sector with the Year of Coast & Waters - Postponed?
Carol Hassard
01:09:41
Do you have any information on further financial support for the industry after the second self employment pay out and end of the furlough scheme?
JANE ALI-KNIGHT
01:10:01
International students is a huge issue as universities are mobilising to deliver education online and this will continue for a while...
Emma Clark
01:10:37
quick question. Calmac are considering their 2m distance between each and every passenger not per family bubble. Do you have any advice on how best to get them to rethink this and have 2m between each bubble and not passenger. Also if you are not face to face with someone table wise do you still need 2m?
Fiona Murray
01:13:13
YCW2020 has been referred to as going into 2021 in a couple of webinars with VS recently, but I can't remember who said that....
Sharon Homan-James
01:13:14
At Edinburgh Napier we have launched a Micro Mentoring Programme for 4th year graduating students, to give them extra support and help keep them close to industry, please email me s.homan-james@napier.ac.uk if you would like to find out more and potentially support one of our graduates who are passionate about the industry over the summer.
Lesley
01:13:49
