Develop the culture BEFORE a crisis.
You need to own it as a CEO and talk about changes in the culture that need to be mae
Leadership is a team sport. One who thinks he leads and has no followers is just taking a walk.
Great points Teresa
Her point on taking care of your employees makes the team work real. Great learnings from her points
COVID-19 has shown "business leaders" must have relationships with crisis management experts that also have a public health background. Many of us have been talking about the vulnerabilities which have been exacerbated during this pandemic that impact employee well-being.
if that lasts two years we have multi crisis leadership over time
What is the recipe for success in corporations. Post pandemic. Teresa "Women in leadership tend to be strong, passionate and empathetic, which serves us well. Women lead from the heart, men lead from the head. When you lead from the heart during a crisis people will follow" A woman's perspective.
So True Teresa - people want to feel cared for, especially now
YES, thank you for saying this!! Teresa White is on point.
Pegine, very good point. Globally the best COVID-19 responses and results are by women leaders.
We are always caring for our mothers.
"we need specific triggers to know things are better. Certain triggers need to be met before we move into new areas' We will not be 100% of where we are. There will be people will be working home forever, which is different than before" Great share Teresa
Wonderful insights, Teresa. Thank you!
Sharon Savoca Mahin
Thank you Teresa for sharing your strategy. Stay safe. Love the mask!
Damon Hiniger - Being a wartime CEO battle ready, we have to be nimble. Facing operational complexity. We have 24/7/365 we have to think about how the people feel during this time, all the time.
Neysa Dillon Brown
Teresa, thank you for sharing the importance of culture, caring for employees and leading from the heart! When employees feel supported and safe they will trust you when it is time to come back to your offices.
Damon Hiniger - Leadership: This is important all the time. Listening and Communication skills are so important. Be an active listener, have to ask questions, be willing to be challenged. Take it up a notch relative to decision makers. We gave all the employees a $500 dollar bonus. Normally it would take a month or two. This decision was made in day.
I loved this comment from Teresa - "take care of employees and they will take care of the business" So true and we are seeing the results of our culture building strategies now - keep people safe & protected
Thinking quickly, making the right decision, is the new norm. Damon
Thank you Damon for recognizing employee well-being and vulnerability by adding the $500 bonus for sustainability
Damon - My inbox has tripled! in the last few weeks. Now I have to focus on time to Recalibrate when you have quiet, reflect, digest and read. So critical.
You need a process for making calls where unexpected information is the norm
Collaboration across the globe! The pandemic is a global economic and health crisis.
Damon: lots of thinking, digest and be more effective. REALLY important. Have to turn everything off and reflect and digest.
50/50 gender parity, 30% of women on our board. How has that diversity of thought and the team benefitted you. GREAT QUESTION
kudos Damon. at NAWBO-CA we fought to get more women on corporate boards in CA and now SB 826 is a law based on a bill we sponsored authorized by Hannah Beth Jackson, Connie Leyva and Toni Atkins. with 30% women on your board we commend you
"What got us here...is not going to get us there" An important time for us to "unlearn" the models and processes that worked for us in the past. Opportunity to pilot and consider so many new approaches to all we do!
1. Empathy - has increased. 2. Solutions - Fear doubt and uncertainy. the Diversity of leadership has really helped us see areas that are important.
Damon - you must be optimistic and help others see through the tough times
The DNA of the company (culture) is very important in a crisis.
Empathetic Leadership. great discussion about how to keep that in the culture and have leaders embrace that skill. Great point Damon
is there a way to save the chat from an iPhone?
Can't agree more with Sharon, things are going to drastically change. We need to learn and adapt to new way of doing things
"How do we think about construction going forward?" Great thought to ponder
Damon - we need to rethink "how" we will change our facilities and utilize technology in the future.
Yes…click on the three dots (meatballs) in chat box and click save.
I need to move this to my cell but can't find the password. Can someone provide? have to get in my car.
So admire Carly.
Thank you. Betty Hines

3. It is critically important to lengthen our view. Easy to get short term focus. Let's spend every dime rather save for tough times, they always come. So in these tough times we don't our future goals we don't forget what we are working towards. It is important in tough times
Diedre, for your poise and focus
Teresa, for the focus on culture and people
Damon - being nimble to think and act quickly
8 BILLION dollars on diversity and inclusion training.
Carly, leadership matters! YES!!!

Joelle Frank - Global, employee safety, communication challenges are huge. People talk about the Financial - just beginning
EXCELLENT! Betty Hines WPO & W.E.W. Good bye. Another call.
Joelle Frank - Work Structures - How do we prepare. How well most of the corporate structures work well, those that if my 153 people were able to work virtually. I am surprised.
How to deal with manufacturing? what do we do in the snack room, mail room how do we handle it? Joelle Frank.
Terrific panel with insights and advice. Thank you all!
Thank you panelists and moderators for key insights, hearts and heads!
Noting too, that arts & culture (mass gatherings) have a huge impact upon the economy (every $1 spent in this sector stimulates ca. $8 of impact). So, with mass gatherings rolling back slowly, there are additional waves of impact in that sector and surrounding it.
Joelle Frank - How have people done things the RIGHT way. People will be asking.
ESG = Environmental, Social and Governance
Lauren C Anderson
I would add that it's not just ESG going forward, but how companies/corporations treat their employees that will greatly impact investment.
Great meeting. Have to go . What a great meeting
