Hi Everyone! I'm Nikki Kolb, NOFA-NH's Operations Manager. We have a packed webinar tonight. For our newcomers - we will have a Q & A with Ron at 7:45. Please write your questions to everyone in the chat box. I will read them out to Ron. All participants are on mute. Thanks for being here!
What if you have a fruit tree with a low obstruction and the bottom half doesn’t get enough sun?
Aimee & Eli, NH, USA
When should I start seeding in southern NH (Seacoast)?
Do you know anyone still accepting soil tests? Cooperative extension is not. If not, is there a way to test certain things ourselves?
On the How much to grow slide, is that list on a per person basis?
What are your best recommendations for weed control? I have been using black plastic mulch for several years, but would love to get rid of plastic from my gardening.
Ron, would you please show slide with your schedule again?
wide awake! :)
thanks for the talk
i missed the beginning of the meeting bc i just got the email. is it possible to get a copy of the slides for personal review? thanks.
or is it possible this was recorded?
we have a cherry tree that the birds and squirrels and chipmunks completely decimate. WE have tried net and pepper spray, without success. should I wrap the cherries once the flower falls with plastic wrap? Have you heard of this? thans Ron
We only have a small space and grow tomatoes in basically the same place each year. What can we do to reduce disease each subsequent year?
What do you think about planting closer together, what I have heard is “square foot gardening” for smaller gardens. I have raised beds and have read that it keeps weeds down and shades the roots to retain moisture.
I missed the beginning. Is there information about the wicking method for watering?
My husband just filled my greenhouse raised beds with wet clumpy soil from our old hoophouse site. Is there anything I can do to improve it?
U Maine did mine.
I second Sandra’s question. I want to try wick irrigation on my plot this summer. Any recommendations for the best elements to use. Specific rope or water basin type?
what kind of rope do you use in your wick irrigation system? also the water reservoirs
Thank you - just checked and U Maine is still accepting soil tests admid covid
who sells honey nut butternut seeds¿
Could you repeat why the north-south bed orientation is desirable?
Thanks Ron. We look forward to a garden tour at your new farm!. A good example for a first time gardener...
