Is there a possibility of getting the 5th circuit to expand the Hanen's stay to include those who had pending initial DACA applications? Arguable they too relied upon DACA by preparing and paying $495 to submit an application.

Will the administration's rule making likely "update" the dates of the current DACA eligibility - i.e., came within 5 years before . . .

The Presidents' Alliance and FWD.us developed a toolkit for higher education institutions to encourage Congress to pass a permanent solution: https://www.presidentsalliance.org/supporting-a-pathway-to-citizenship-for-undocumented-students-in-2021/

We do not envision or expect the administration to update the eligibility of the DACA memo to expand the number of people eligible, mostly due to the ongoing litigation.

TheDream.US is honored to have Eastern Connecticut State University as a Partner College. ECSU has provided a welcoming environment with needed supports to help our Scholars overcome the barriers and challenges they face in their college journey.

Two additional states, Alabama and South Carolina, require DACA just to enroll in the state’s public universities. DACA recipients in Alabama and South Carolina have to pay out-of-state tuition.

University of Alabama here - DACA recipients can qualify for in-state residency for tuition purposes if they meet residency requirements, such as graduation from an Alabama H.S.

Thank you for all of this information. Riverside Community College District's colleges work closely with our DACA and undocumented students. We appreciate our partnership with TODEC for legal assistance for our students. We are also sharing with our Federal delegation members the importance for equitable access to services for the success of our students (i.e. Pell Grant and Healthcare).

Charter - Thank you! South Carolina requires the state's DACA recipients to pay out-of-state tuition (not Alabama), and Alabama and South Carolina both require DACA for enrollment in public institutions.

In Illinois, HB3438 passes both houses and is heading to the governor’s desk. HB3438 will require public universities and community colleges to designate an employee as a Resource Liaison to be available on campus to provide assistance to undocumented students; also encourages them to establish a Dream Resource Center.

Thanks, Christian. That is my understanding. And we are burdened by verifying lawful presence at point of admission for all students. We have a fairly significant DACA population here at UA, and across the state, the public universities and community college systems enroll many DACA recipients.

I take pause when I see news articles try to explain what the ruling means. I appreciate seeing the pennlaw/President’s alliance pdf explaining the Hanen decision. Thank you please continue to circulate and inform us on major changes and how we might package it for our students.
