Nope on term limits. Even term limits for Prez set in 22nd Amendment. Then states tried to set term limits for Congress members but SCOTUS knocked that down in 1995. SCOTUS constraints are quite vague in Constitution

But then there’s this:Article III, Section 1 of the U.S. Constitution reads that judges shall remain in their position so long as they follow "good behaviour." This has long suggested that judges, including Supreme Court justices, have lifetime tenure. The general consensus among legal experts is that there would have to be a constitutional amendment in order to create term limits. Some political and legal scholars believe it can be done through other legislation that would move justices to other positions in the court, although this has not been tested.”
Carol Sullivan

There was one man at my Bothell City Hall drop box location just standing nearby with arms crossed, watching the two election workers putting last minute ballots into the box. I’m wondering if he’ll be back again.
Yvonne Brandon

A guy was parked n his car
David Gordon

thanks, Daniel. So the Supreme Court would then rule on whether the term limits would be constitutional. I think I can guess how they would rule.

Actually during reconstruction, voter intimidation at the polls was common—lots of monitoring at polls in the 19th early 20th century
Arnold Byron
01:02:06
Some people will vote for the candidates who the media says has the highest poll numbers. Lazy voters sometimes simply want to vote for who they think is a winner. That's all the information they want to have before the vote. Media companies are wrong to depend too much on polls.

Wa State is so ahead - can put your ballot in the mail - not even have to go to drop boxes.

and then came the Wilson Administration. I learned that he was worse than Trump. He did "lock them up." 400 people who disagreed with WWI were imprisoned for what they said and wrote. Not being "Patriotic".

I have to say, I agree that the tv ads have been horrific.
Robert Brown
01:33:51
I wish Dems would fight back on the issues of inflation and crime. On inflation, Republicans are cheering it on because corporation pay them when they get elected. It has been perfect for them the oil companies have recorded record profits becuase they simultaneously claim about the horrors of inflation while pocketing even more money. On crime, how can they be serious when they do nothing to curb gun sales? I think the Dems have missed this argument completely.

for most of us using English twitter whether or not to us it is a privilege we get to decide, there are parts of the world (Iran, Ukraine) relying on the service in ways we can't understand (and clearly Musk doesn't care about)

My daughter works for Twitter, but will be leaving asap; lining up plenty of interviews lately. Twitter employees are mostly concerned that Musk has no experience or expertise in this industry. Personally, I deleted the Twitter app from my phone in protest the day after he took over!

yes to fairness doctrine, though if/how to apply that to digital media is an interesting question as well
