01:02:41
ME, TOO!

01:03:17
Is it possible that the census forms are 'stuck' somewhere, in the USPS offices???

01:04:38
I recently discovered that NO mail was being picked up by the carriers from a building at the corner of Sutro and W. 42nd Street...it's in an 'updated' mailbox that is installed for the use of the tenants, but a lot of us in the area have also been using it.

01:13:30
Hey! I recently reached out to the post to make sure things wouldn't be stuck at their centers. They did state that they are obligated to send all mail out on the day they are received. They are not allowed to hold mail at their centers in any way. So taking your mail to the actual post office may help.

01:13:53
There will be a Q&A at the end and everyone will be given a voice.

01:14:12
Please don’t have provocative exchanges that detract from the presentation. There will be a time to do this after the session. Thanks.

01:14:24

The USPS has removed over 700 mail sorters this year; the average number of those machines removed annually from 2015 to 2019 was in the 300s! (That story posted on TheGrio.com this week.) Be ready to camp out at your voting spot, fam!

Thanks for sharing this vision!

01:54:34
Excellent presentation.

01:54:35
How will the sale of the mall affect the proposed housing in that area? You also said retail in the mall will be changed forever. Doesn't sound like a good thing.

01:55:20
where is the parking for the Vision Theatre which will have 750 seats plus the employees? Is this parking separate from the other two lots that you want to build on?

01:55:49
I have a question pls - Tracey Brown

01:55:56
the lots are the parking for the theater

01:56:15
I have a question pls

01:56:46
Please type your question in the chat

01:56:46
What can ECWA and our stakeholders do to support getting control of the land?

01:56:48
Thanks Ernest....that is what I thought and thus I am trying to understand the goal for trying to secure and build on those lots when parking for the theatre can't be lost.

01:57:45
what’s been the group’s conversation with MRT?

01:58:55
We have to be mindful of YIMBY at LA Metro & in our legislature that would hurt this vision

01:59:29
theaters do not function as well when parking is not in close proxmity

01:59:56
We need black Entertainers & Ball Players to invest in this public private partnership

02:00:11
How do we get our elected officials on board?

02:00:14
has there been conversation with Supervisor candidates? Wesson and Mitchell?

02:00:21

02:02:44
thanks

02:03:06
Who do we contact if we want to hep?

02:03:07
The meeting is not locked.

02:03:10
Is there a chart of monies needed for all of the various elements that are being sought to be developed in the area: Vision Theatre, the Conference Center, hotel, Destination Crenshaw, etc. On top of it there is the desire to have developers invest in redos/upgrades of the Baldwin Hills shopping center. Each of these and more requires a big dollar investment. For the area do you have an idea what that price tag is?

02:03:44
yes terry unlocked it. thanks

02:03:44
We have to incorporate the arts with all the new technology.

02:03:50
PLEASE let us know how the recording of this amazing meeting can be accessed for people who couldn't make it!

02:03:55
Do folks from this group sit on the COVID19 Recovery Group with Mayor Garetti?

02:04:35
This needs to happen so this can be funded & planed

02:04:59
Hi everyone we are recording this meeting so we can make it accessible to anyone who would like a copy

02:05:42
COVID19 Recovery money can help bring this vision to reality

02:05:58
Let James Burks get his comment/question in, please!

02:06:07
our community has had problems with maintaining cleanliness either the city hasn't done their job or private business hasn't what is our plan to change that ?

02:06:25
You all need some IT support 🥺

02:06:37
Oh that’s me 😂

02:06:51
YIMBY is a danger to this vision and to our communities

02:07:06
Whoot, there it us, Gary! LOL

02:07:57
Are there any form letters or phone scripts available for folks to use when calling to advocate for this project?

02:08:07
We have to stay focused & watch YIMBY

02:08:07
there is building then there is operation, programming, advertising, marketing, staffing and long term economic sustainability, In effect a strategic business plan and business model.

02:08:14
Is there an online petition available for people to sign?

02:08:19
Thank you Roland Wiley for being a leader, our voice, and motivator. my question is what do we do with the homelessness that has a negative impact on our beautification reject. I feel for them but our prosperities and communities are devalued. the tents and old RVs and bus stops homes have taken over but they have no where to live. under the Freeways and street that i do not walk in my community. you also made a comment that if we don’t develop our communities that other cultures will and we all know the Chinese are always doing development projects as they have primarily own Africa and the Lebanese own retail in Africa so LA is next.

02:09:04
COVID19 recovery & opportunity funding is critical

02:09:09
The ELECTEDS are so busy playing political musical chairs, and trying to maintain the spots they have occupied for 20 or more years...with NOTHING SIGNIFICANT being done that benefits the community, in the LONG run!

02:09:51
The Master Plan must be updated

02:10:09
To reflect this vision

02:10:14
@Jacquelyn & Carla: AMEN!

02:10:23
As you talk about the significance of Leimert Park and the Crenshaw Corridor it would be useful to point out that it should include the significant build out that West Angelus did and that includes building housing;. The Lula Washington Dance Theatre is a property owner; The Sentinel on Crenshaw; Angelus Mortuary. The point is that if you acknowledge the takeover of the Crenshaw, Baldwin, View Park, Windsor and Leimert Park Communities from the early 60's this is building upon our push back gainst restrictive covenants and we have held on even with ups and downs. These are existing strong rooted entities as well as those that are in Leimert Park now that have come in new and those that have existed for more than 30 or more years. Don't sell the total story short. This area of investing in Leimert Park can feel anchored and further supported by a long history.....don't leave that out....it is passing the baton in strength not the start of the race.

02:12:00
The Master Plan, COVID19 Recovery & Opportunity Funding, and YIMBY must be mitigated

02:12:17
African people need to be a part of the conversation. James, will you insure that the continent will be included?

02:12:28
The vision must be addressed in planning docs

02:12:34
YES to the petition online...and if there is a designated person to report back to us about the responses/results that we receive from the petition...TALK IS CHEAP, WE NEED TO SEE SOME ACTION, accompanied by REAL commitments from the ELECTEDS???

02:13:42
We need governance & finance to make this vision a reality

02:13:44
IHas an investment program been developed?

02:13:52
Speciifically, ow many parking spaces are allotted for the Vision Theater?

02:13:59
Who is on the Metro Board?

02:14:08
Will the proposed Master Plan require approval by the City of Los Angeles? The USC University

02:14:35
It is about the corridor and the linkages with all the aforementioned. The plan should be inclusive, Think Disney Metrorail, Ben Cadlwell's Cars, e.g. Wakanda effect but for real. The entire corridor is The Village, but connected resources.

02:14:54
We need plans to reflect this vision with dollars

02:16:03
Watch the YIMBY on parking and other sustainability issues that detail our projects

02:17:25
Are dollars attached to the plan?

02:17:51
Thank you, Terry!

02:17:52
The USC University Village began its planning around 2006 and resulted in a $700 Million investment with more than 5 million square. At $700 Million, without any land cost, would this Master Plan cost exceed $1 Billion?

02:17:53
With RAW and Leimert Park Village, Inc., ECWA will upload the recording of this meeting and the PowerPoint on our website: www.ecwandc.org

02:18:09
Is there a pipeline to other private investors, venture capitalists, etc.?

02:18:48
Thank you for the uploads.

02:18:55
COVID19 Recovery & Opportunity Funding is critical. Who is at the table?

02:18:57
GREAT question, Selena.

02:19:31
How are going to address homelessness in the Leimert Park area

02:20:04
How can we view the recorded version of this Zoom call?

02:20:14
How has COVID19 impacted these plans?

02:20:32
you guys been going since 2002 correct ?

02:20:32
Roland or Sherri could you talk a bit about Metro impact unpacking and movement of people in and out of LPV?

02:20:35
Parking without SECURITY is worthless! Addicts, whether housed or not, are a continuing issue in the area...the criminal element is REAL, and a PRESENT danger to those of us who have mobility issues (can't RUN or FIGHT/elderly)

02:20:50
Public budgets have been hit hard by COVID19.

02:21:05
I manage operations for an urban mobility, electric vehicle start-up in Culver City, I would love to help bring this tech to our people in Leimert, if anyone sees this please reach out to me BSmith@EnvoyThere.com

02:21:20
will you share survey with ECWA so we can distribute it ti our neighbors

02:21:21
So has private equity funding

02:21:26
why can’t the Baldwin hills plaza structure be redeveloped experience on the ground floor...housing on top we should be be stressing public or mass transit to the area anywaythe area

02:21:32
Impact of parking is what I meant

02:21:46
Temple I second that emotion

02:21:51
To Michael Banner. Let’s discuss next week the issue of costs.

02:24:22
Yes, it did. I should have asked earlier. Thanks

02:24:37
California Endowment needs to seed fund

02:24:55
If you want to attract all of the home owners in Leimert, Windsor, Baldwin, View, etc. to participate in the Leimert Park facilities, might need to create shuttle type services that can move people in and out of those areas so that they won't get in their cars but can feel like they can get to the sites. They are not going to pay $100 to a show and walk up and down the hills to get there. Finding some key neighborhood "shuttle" type spots to get back and forth between the Leimert Village hub would make it equally as attractive and viewed as a sustainable footprint. this same shuttle service could also connect to the Wellington Sq, Lafayette Sq areas where we also live and it would allow attracting even wider audiences without the use of their cars. Need this at least until LA's metro system gets even more elaborate.

02:25:06
