ISRAELI PALESTINIAN PEACE SIMULATION - Shared screen with speaker view
Nancy Stern
48:30
Hello and thank you for this program. Will Dr. Peled-Elhanan be speaking today as well?
Jara Handala
53:06
The talk there of "Israeli representatives"& "Palestinian representatives": does the former include re Israelis who consider themselves Palestinian, be they of Arab origin or, as in the case of Uri Davis, be they of Jewish origin? This is non-trivial, not least coz 'Israeli' is not recognised in Israeli law & state administration as a nationality.

Can you put the spelling of the guest’s name in the chat?
Shlomo Orr
55:29
Hen Yehezkeli
Rahel Warshaw-Dadon
56:19
Josef Avesar, you repeatedly direct your comments to Dr. Yehezkely. I think that you mean to refer to PROF. JOSEPH AGASSI (who is apparently using Dr. Yehezkely's computer for this ZOOM meeting).
Luke McKee
56:38
I would like the guest to speak about Zionists suppressing free speech of Palestine activities, such a chabad metzitzah b'peh child abuse cult the shul bal harbour mayor suing Berkley law for allowing Palestinian student groups to ban militant Zionists who think Palestine doesn't have the right to exist?
Jesse Bevan
58:25
Luke what does US repression of activists have to do with on the ground situation in US local government?
Luke McKee
58:30
Replying to "I would like the gue..."For details see @gabegroisman vs @endthezb951visa on twitter.
Jesse Bevan
58:44
What does it have to do with Israel/Palestine and the region?
Rahel Warshaw-Dadon
59:50
Who is the guest speaker?Dr. Hen Yehezkeli (he spells his name Chen Yehezkely) or ratherPROF. JOSEPH AGASSI .
Jesse Bevan
59:59
Maybe get out of YouTube video?
Luke McKee
01:00:02
Replying to "What does it have to..."He's a regular visitor to Israel. Israel wouldn't exist without us foreign Zionist aid in the billions.
Troy Davis
01:00:57
I hear perfectly for what it’s worth
Jesse Bevan
01:01:04
It works!
Jesse Bevan
01:01:34
And the professor sounds great when mic is closer to him
Nancy Stern
01:01:42
I’m still wondering about Dr. Nurit Peled-Elhanan. The announcement of today’s simulation said that it would include her, but name has not been mentioned and I don’t see her here. Will she be speaking today as well?
Rahel Warshaw-Dadon
01:03:12
Are there any PALESTINIANS participating in this meeting?
Troy Davis
01:04:42
I can represent district of Hebron if no one else does
Troy Davis
01:05:04
I am French not Jewish nor Arab
Troy Davis
01:06:21
I could not see the vote
Zainab Hermes
01:06:43
I would like to reiterate Nancy Stern's questions about Dr. Peled-Elhanan. Does anyone know whether she will be participating in today's simulation? I joined today's simulation a few minutes late, so I didn't hear the full introduction. Did Mr. Avesar mention anything about whether or not she will be speaking today in his intro?
Gail Nestel
01:07:44
Does this include Gaza?
Troy Davis
01:09:20
Question : what inspired this constitution ? The US constitution apparently and the structure of the European Union ?
Gail Nestel
01:09:51
Where is Nurit Peled Elhanan?
Jesse Bevan
01:10:09
The website goes in detail and he also published a book and pdf
Jesse Bevan
01:10:46
The academic that was scheduled to participate is ill so we have a replacement guest
Zainab Hermes
01:11:28
Reacted to "Where is Nurit Peled..." with 👍
Troy Davis
01:11:31
Here a proposal for wording : the government is non confessional and non religious

01:11:40
Nurit Peled Elhanan will not be here this morning she had to reschedule

Jesse Bevan
01:24:26
That makes sense to refer to Gaza and WB. Hamas controls Gaza and PA controls (parts of) WB (that IDF does not control).
Giacomo Valentini
01:25:25
Rewrite the item: The Israeli gvt, the Palestinian gvt and Hamas as the ruling authority of Gaza
Julieanna Thompson
01:25:27
the Gov't of GAZA is governed by Hamas
Julieanna Thompson
01:26:59
HAMAS is not entirely a "problem"; it has to be listened to.
Naseer Abboushi
01:29:44
I am voting yon the measure but agree Hamas should not be mentioned
Troy Davis
01:30:17
Also, structurally, the veto clause should not be in each law but a separate item
Troy Davis
01:31:46
Why not say simply : the governments of Israel and Palestine, including the West Bank and Gaza ? That way we are neutral and the law stands the test of time.
Naseer Abboushi
01:32:57
Replying to "Why not say simply :..."Yes, I am Palestinian and I support this and think most of us feel the same.
Jesse Bevan
01:34:12
This ipc plan is far more viable than current situation. What is needed to get this going is only tens of millions of dollars
Choco Mocca
01:37:17
Hi everybody
Troy Davis
01:41:26
You hit it on the nail !
Troy Davis
01:43:00
I was disconnected, here what I suggested as improvement : that the law says the governments of Israel and Palestine (West Band and Gaza)
Troy Davis
01:43:25
It’s more neutral and will stand the test of time
Naseer Abboushi
01:44:30
The views expressed by our guest are right on target and have identified the problems of the issue which is the mindset of the people, which I think is more of an issue of borders and land.

Troy Davis
01:48:26
Question comment improvement proposal : that the parliament be composed of men women in parity.
Troy Davis
01:49:55
That’s hard to fight politically and it will be more progressive, pro peace and will reduce power of religious extremists of all sides
Gail Nestel
01:50:01
Israel is not a democracy!
Naseer Abboushi
01:52:18
Len Bennett is out of touch with reality and this view is absurd.
Naseer Abboushi
01:56:08
America was democracy when there was slavery and women could not vote. So the term is loose.
Troy Davis
01:56:19
Faint praise 😅😅
Naseer Abboushi
01:57:37
I wish he could take one more questions!

Demographics shouldn't really matter in a democracy.
Troy Davis
02:18:15
Maybe we need to invent a new concept instead of ethnic cleansing, perhaps ethnic neutralisation, or disempowerment (too long),
Zainab Hermes
02:19:20
In a democracy, one's religious, ethnic, gender … etc. membership wouldn't play any role in a democracy. Citizens would be all equal under the law regardless of those things.
Wolfe Erlichman
02:19:20
Israel is not new as concentration of Jews but, as the first guest said, it is the first ghetto with nuclear weapons

Comparing Israel with Zionism? I think he meant Nazism.
Wolfe Erlichman
02:27:11
It is the policy of Israel to make life for "Arabs" as miserable as possible. Behind the Green Line, it is done mainly on a bureaucratic level. In the West Bank, where the government can get away with more, it is worse.
Troy Davis
02:27:14

If I will try to sum up the discussion with positive looking forward, I would say that respect and compromising is needed to try to resolve these issues. It will take a generation of more.

I have a 4th response : a negotiation in a democratic assembly like IPC but not as a government but just a democratic assembly freely elected, 50% men 50% women
Troy Davis
02:41:09
Clarification : I suggest half Israeli half Palestinian AND half men and half women ! It’s not either or but both. Sorry if it was unclear.

Here is a 4th option that Samir would love: that all the Jews vacate and leave the land that was given to them 4,000 years ago and that was approved by the League of Nations in 1920 and 1922 and by the U.N in 1947 and leave this land to the Arabs to move into and live without Jews. We will even leave the lights on for you, Samir.
Gail Nestel
02:48:54
Amnon Charash, your sarcasm is not helpful!
