Does severe cold Affect eggs in Winter?

57:19
Does chemical warfare during the nymph stage work well to control population growth?

59:10
Are the egg masses susceptible to flame? Thinking flame thrower for egg mass control.

01:00:45
Nope on the flame thrower, although that would be gratifying! There's just too much risk to accidentally burning down trees, structures, etc.

01:01:30
Hi Jake - I understand how you feel .If you find egg masses you can scrape them off using a plastic card or putty knife. Scrape them into a bag or container filled with rubbing alcohol or hand sanitizer and keep them in this solution permanently. Egg masses that are scraped to the ground can still hatch, so you should make sure to kill them with some sort of ethanol based solution.

01:01:38
I also don't advise using a power washer to remove egg masses. There's no evidence that the washer will kill the eggs instead of scattering them around where they'll just hatch later.

Is there a listing of businesses that are permitted

01:12:22
Many vineyards rely on contract labor crews for their vineyard work. Many of those laborers live in Winchester. Who is responsible for training those laborers?

01:13:35
List of permit holders, likely not up to date as we've recently expanded the quarantine https://www.vdacs.virginia.gov/pdf/spotted-lanternfly-permit-holders.pdf

01:16:41
How do we get the yard signs

01:21:30
if we are just driving a truck of grapes from outside the quarantine area thru the quarantine area to again outside the quarantine, what do we need to do?

01:22:51
Bruce, If you are driving thru and don't stop (fueling excluded and traffic excluded) then a permit is not required.

01:32:00
Loudoun session is 10:00 a.m. on Aug 4 at Hillsborough Vineyards

01:33:27
Are the materials for SLF restricted use?

01:37:18
some material are RUPs, lots of the ones we recommend. Getting and maintaining private pesticide applicators license is free and worth your time

01:40:40
Dormant oil can also be applied to egg masses in late winter before bud break in the spring. The oil will smother the developing eggs.
