It could also be attached to a verb, like «aax̱ awsinook» ʼshe picked him up (a baby/child that is awake)ʼ
Matt G
01:21:13
Where does the 'like snow' come in? Is it offered in English to elicit the sense of 'softly' present in the Lingít?
Devlin Anderstrom
01:23:29
Itʼs a verb that actually means to obscure vision. So, for example, you could say «dleit yakaawadán» which kind of describes a blizzard where the snow is hard to see through.
Justin Ketah
01:25:13
Does a resource exists that has the sounds for all of the letters to listen to
Devlin Anderstrom
01:29:35
Jeff Leer has it as something that piles or drifts, specifically snow, but it seems to be related to dust that blows around. However, ayakaawadán by itself just means that the weather makes it hard to see. This is an example like heʼs talking about that is just hard to conceptualize.
