It takes 38 states to amend the US constitution.

Thanks Dwight!

01:09:45
Common Cause is strongly warning about a constitutional convention. Freedom Foundation (right wing) is strongly working for a constitutional convention that they think they can control

01:12:20
They have all the states already for the Equal Rights Amendment. They don’t have Congress’s support now because it is said they missed the deadline.

01:14:14
There is no longer support for the 4th or 5th amendments, unfortunately. Rights of accused and government data collection of private citizens. A Constitutional Convention could very likely repeal these.

01:17:38
A convention as authorized by Article V doesn't have that power. The most one could do was to propose amendments.

01:18:15
I understood several states actually rescinded their approval of the Equal Rights Amendment

01:18:57
Sorry, have to go. Thank you

01:19:35
Nebraska, South Dakota, and Tennessee all voted to rescind their ratifications of the ERA between 1973 and 1979 (google search)

Brooklyn Public Library Town Hall - 28th Amendment. I don’t know the current status of the work from this program. Contact the Brooklyn Public Library to see if there is more work happening. This is the library link about the town hall. https://www.bklynlibrary.org/media/press/brooklyn-public-library-54

Thanks Keitha!

Commoncause is not progressive, they are establishment. Who are their donors?

01:33:27
I disagree with how prepared they are but then why don't we prepare to participate effectively (Wolf PAC has)

01:41:53
Someone who is unmuted has sound coming through that's very distracting!

01:43:18
A convention starts at the state legislature... ie: locally. Thank you for the opportunity to contribute. =)

01:43:56
Thank you Jeff!

01:46:22
Thank you all
