Environmental non-profits in South Carolina are coming together through our umbrella group, the Conservation Coalition, to host a series of webinars for the next few weeks. This will be like a Zoom Happy Hour, but with a little more structure. Each one will have a few folks who are working on the issue, and we’ll have an opportunity to take questions.
The webinar will focus on developments in Washington DC impacting South Carolina’s water. EPA has written new rules stripping national protection from streams and wetlands, while the U.S. Supreme Court clarified that unpermitted pollution reaching streams from underground is unlawful. The EPA is also proposing to relax protections against coal ash pollution. What does this all mean for SC?
Speakers will include environmental attorneys Blan Holman and Frank Holleman from the Southern Environmental Law Center and Amy Armstrong from the SC Environmental Law Project.
