Speakers

Wendy Corrick
@Friends of Bull Creek Catchment
Wendy grew up in tropical far north Queensland and her love of the bush was fostered by an early introduction to her surroundings by her high school teachers through the Bush Walking Club. No matter where she has lived in Australia Wendy has managed to seek out some bush for recreation and solace. Now living in Perth with a grown family and retired from teaching Wendy has the time to devote to a small patch of bush near her home in Bull Creek. Over the past ten years she, along with her husband Geoff, has managed a small group of locals to care for Bull Creek Reserve. This is a patch of degraded bush once used for grazing but has substantial stands of Xanthorrhoea preissii (grass trees), Eucalyptus rudis (flooded gums) and Melaleuca rhaphiophylla (swamp paper bark) along the creek line.
