War and Cancer

Since 24 February 2022, Youth Cancer Europe members, staff and volunteers have organised a coordinated response and helped hundreds of patients find continued cancer treatment in spite of the war.

NGOs like YCE have become indispensable in Ukrainian cancer patients’ desperate fight for survival, since the Russian invasion resulted in 12 million refugees and internally displaced persons, including one in three of households with at least one person with a chronic condition being unable to secure medication and care in Ukraine.
