This webinar is the second of a two-part presentation exploring forensic pathology and death investigation. Dr. Matthew Orde – consulting forensic pathologist and Clinical Associate Professor at the University of British Columbia, former Medical Director of Autopsy Pathology at Vancouver General Hospital, dually-trained in medicine & law and called to the Bar of England and Wales – will lead the audience through some of the key aspects of forensic pathology and contemporary autopsy practice, drawing on real case material and with an emphasis on some of the more controversial topics.
In this second session the discussion will turn to interpretation of patterns of injury, and some of the challenges with the provision of independent, objective, and evidence-based testimony will also be explored.
Our moderator will be Richard Fowler, Q.C.
Participants in this webinar may claim up to 1.5hrs of CPD with LSBC. This webinar is organized in collaboration with the UBC Innocence Project and the Criminal Defence Advocacy Society.
Note: Please be advised that actual case photographs will be used to demonstrate certain aspects of the death investigation process. Some people might find these images distressing.
