Join us to learn more about two new members of the ecomedes sustainable product catalog, IceStone, a Brooklyn-based countertop manufacturer leading the effort to deliver beauty and durability while respecting the planet, and Mosa, a Netherlands-based manufacturer of ceramic tile that meets the highest levels of life cycle assessment for sustainability.
Both IceStone and Mosa have embraced Cradle to Cradle CertificationTM, evaluating the entire lifecycle of their products in terms of planetary impact. This ensures that their product offerings will help contribute to LEED and other rating systems.
Made from three simple ingredients – recycled glass, Portland cement and non-toxic pigment – IceStone counters help to protect the earth, are safe for workers to install and contain zero resins, glues, petrochemicals, plastics or chemical binders. Since founding in 2003, Icestone has diverted more than 16 million pound of glass from landfills.
With 90% of materials obtained from local, monitored quarries, Mosa ceramic tiles are non-toxic, VOC-free and made from 21 to 45% pre-consumer recycled content. Since their founding in 1883, Mosa has epitomized the sleek design on Dutch floor and wall tiles.
