COVID-19 and Long-Term Care Scams - Webinar by the Federal Trade Commission
On November 10th at 10 am PST, The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and TheCIL are partnering to host an informative, free webinar about scams that affect our communities today. The FTC is the nation’s consumer protection agency that aims to prevent fraudulent practice through education, partnership, and law enforcement. Since the beginning of the Covid-19 Pandemic, there has been an increased number of Covid-19 related scams. Many scams target the disability and senior communities by disguising themselves as fake Covid 19 treatments and associated products. Other scams pretend to be organizations like the World Health Organization, sending targeted emails with viruses and harmful software. During FTC’s Covid-19 and Long-Term Care Webinar, the FTC will explain how to avoid related scams and what you should do if it happens to you. Viewers are encouraged to ask questions and engage with the hosts at the end of the Webinar.

The COVID-19 and Long-Term Care Scams Webinar will take place virtually on Zoom. If you are interested in attending, please register with the link below. The Webinar will include closed captioning, American Sign Language interpretation. We will also send a screen-readable handout after the presentation. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to us at (510) 841-4776 or info@thecil.org.
