A tasting tour of van der Kamp family vineyards.
We will examine this vineyard from several measures: Its topography, at 1,400 feet on the northern flank of Sonoma Mountain, and the 300 ft. pitch—top to bottom of the vineyard itself, one of the oldest pinot vineyards in California. Its soil is a patchwork of loam, volcanic material and decomposed riverbed. Its biodiversity boosts complexity and sustainability. Its diverse clones capture the nuances of climates within climates visited on the 60-acre ranch.
And finally, together, we will map the tastes and aromas of the Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier wines to specific sites in the vineyard.
