Chinese companies continue to draw increasing regulatory scrutiny from the US government, which may now come in the form of government agency subpoenas. Most recently, the US Department of Commerce issued subpoenas in March 2021 to a number of Chinese companies requesting information and materials to determine whether they posed a threat to US companies, workers, and national security. It is expected that more subpoenas will be issued to Chinese companies from different industries, and the scope of the inquiry is expected to expand to other jurisdictions where the interests of Chinese companies may be indirectly impacted through subpoena requests.
Hosted by a panel of experts from Morgan Lewis, this webinar will focus on the US government administrative and grand jury subpoenas frequently encountered by Chinese companies. Experts will also share their best practices to help Chinese companies develop strategies to solve the dilemmas in receiving and handling US government subpoenas.
