Workplace Mental Health Essentials and Mindfulness
It’s Canada’s Healthy Workplace Month (CHWM) in October and a good time to celebrate what your organization has been doing to support employee health and wellbeing, including their Mental Health. CHWM includes weekly themes and challenges, and the first week focuses on workplace mental health – hence, our topic for this webinar!

Whether you are just getting started or you already have a mental health strategy and you want to take it to the next level, it is always important to understand those ‘essential’ actions an organization can take to improve employee MH and create a safer and healthier organization. This session talks about the important workplace mental health ‘essentials’ – those critical components of your wellness strategy that will drive employee psychological health and safety in the workplace.

You will also learn more about the practice of Mindfulness – an essential tool that increases stress resilience and supports employee well-being – and how you can bring this practice to your workplace with some simple exercises.

He has helped over 100 clients undergo mindfulness journeys including RBC, Samsung, Hershey, SC Johnson, Travelzoo, Unilever, Astra Zeneca, Canadian Tire,Scotiabank, Medcan, World Wildlife Foundation, and Osgoode Hall Law School.

Karen Jackson is a seasoned professional with over 25 years of experience in the health care and not-for-profit sector, as both a healthcare professional and leader. Karen's background includes serving in progressive leadership roles in corporate services management and providing strategic direction to organizational health and wellness. Understanding the impacts that all aspects of an organization ultimately have on its ability to be successful, Karen’s passion is to create cultures of excellence through a strategic focus on exemplary healthy workplace practices, including mental health. Karen's specialties include change leadership, employee engagement, performance management, leadership development, organizational development and support services management. Karen is a lead Verifier for organizational assessments. She has an undergraduate science degree from the University of Washington and a Master’s degree in Leadership from the University of Guelph.
