For over two decades, both the White House and Congressional Leadership have turned to Mr. Oppenheim for guidance on how the green card numerical control process could be updated to meet intended goals. Prior to joining the firm, Charlie worked for the U.S. Department of State for over 43 years, as a consular officer in the Bureau of Consular Affairs since 1979. He was the Chief of the Immigrant Visa Control and Reporting Division in the Office of Domestic Operations from January 1998 through December 3, 2021, when he retired. Bernie Wolfsdorf (Managing Partner @WR Immigration) Bernard P. Wolfsdorf is the past National President of the 15,000-member American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA). He is Managing Partner of the firm, known worldwide for its innovation and technology, as well as its high touch service and seamless execution. Mr. Wolfsdorf specializes in a broad range of immigration areas, primarily relating to corporate global mobility, including business and investment visas. He also handles the full range of global immigration matters. He has been certified by the California State Bar as an Immigration and Nationality law specialist for over 25 years. Joey Barnett (EB-5 Partner @WR Immigration) Joseph “Joey” Barnett is a partner at the firm and a member of its EB-5 and business immigration practices. He is licensed as an attorney in Illinois, Wisconsin, and the District of Columbia, and practices exclusively in immigration and nationality law. Mr. Barnett has extensive experience representing immigrant investors seeking permanent residency in the United States through USCIS-designated Regional Centers and investment in their own businesses. Mr. Barnett also counsels U.S. businesses and developers in creating, managing, and using Regional Centers for the receipt of EB-5 capital to create jobs for U.S. workers. He currently serves on the American Immigration Lawyers Association’s (AILA) Benefits Litigation Committee and is a member of the IIUSA Editorial Board. He was also selected for inclusion in the 2023 edition of The Best Lawyers in America®.
