Joseph D. Kearney

Appointed in 2003, Joseph D. Kearney is one of the longest-serving law school deans in the country. Before joining the Marquette law faculty in 1997, Kearney practiced for six years at Sidley & Austin in Chicago; he also served as a law clerk to Justice Antonin Scalia at the United States Supreme Court and Judge Diarmuid F. O'Scannlain of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He is a graduate of Harvard Law School, Yale College, and his hometown’s St. Ignatius College Prep.
