SFS: Produce & Food Safety
Summer Field School Session 2 on Sustainable Produce Production & Food Safety. The session will begin with a recorded tour of Opossum Bottom Farm in Johnson City and interview with farmer Chris about his production methods. Opossum Bottom Farm specializes in year round lettuces, dwarf tomatoes, and other specialty fruits and vegetables. Following the recording, we'll have a live Q&A session with the farmer.

The session will finish with a discussion on food safety practices, how farms can get GAP/FSMA certified, and where farmers can get help with food safety with Adam Watson, UTK Washington County Extension Agent.
