NORTHERN AND RURAL FOCUS - Do Better: 2SLGBTQ+ Youth Recommendations for Change in Ontario
Join LGBT YouthLine for a panel focused on how all sectors in Ontario must #DoBetter when supporting 2SLGBTQ+ youth across rural and northern regions.

During this webinar, YouthLine staff will share information about the 7 Recommendations, with special emphasis on recommendations related to supporting 2SLGBTQ+ youth in northern and rural areas across Ontario. We will then be joined by an incredible panel of Indigenous 2SLGBTQ+ youth, and a moderator, all from rural and/or northern regions in Ontario. There will also be space to ask questions.

Our moderator for the panel will be:
Teddy Syrette, a freelance 2-Spirit advocate and storyteller. Their work in Indigenous-Queer advocacy provides them the opportunity to share their message with diverse audiences, across Turtle Island. Their goals are to be the 24 hour active resource for queer and Indigenous folks, who might don't have any supports or routes to information or services. Teddy wants to be the helper that he needed as a young queer/gender-fluid youth. Teddy is a fabulous Anishnabek person of Batchewana First Nation.

While this launch is open to anyone who wishes to attend, we especially encourage those in decision making positions within northern and/or rural regions across Ontario to attend. This includes: all levels of elected officials, those who are board members, directors, CEO’s, and managers, among others. We also encourage front line workers from northern and/or rural regions in Ontario to attend, including educators, social service workers and health care workers, among others.
