We live in a dangerous world and wise organizations plan in advance for the unexpected. This includes analyzing the needs for mass notification and emergency communication systems.
Both the ICC and NFPA© codes require a Risk Analysis for all Mass Notification Systems designs and installations, including specific requirements for certain occupancies. NFPA 72© Chapter 24 contains specific requirements for using a risk analysis and the building emergency plan to ensure that the emergency communications system is designed to meet all of the owner’s mass notification system goals. This presentation will provide an introduction to the mass notification risk analysis process including who is qualified to perform a risk analysis, how is a risk analysis prepared, who approves a risk analysis, and what do current codes require and what future changes to the code are being considered. This will supply the basics of mass notification risk analysis for owners, designers, and AHJs alike.
This presentation will feature the following learning objectives:
• What is a mass notification risk analysis?
• How is a mass notification risk analysis performed and who is qualified to do complete one?
• What are the current and future code requirements for a mass notification risk analysis?
This webinar is eligible for a continuing education certificate for those successfully completing the program.
