A few weeks ago, the EU and the US launched the Transatlantic Trade and Technology Council (TTTC) – a new initiative that has been billed by both sides as an effort to develop norms and policies for 21st-century economic issues. The initiative follows a raft of initiatives in the new millennium to deepen Transatlantic economic cooperation and resolve bilateral frictions, but the context may be different this time. There is more great-power competition about rules and norms for the global economy and technological development, and the Transatlantic relation itself has been fraying. What should the two sides aim for with the new initiative: should it be more like a Tech Nato than the previous Transatlantic Economic Council? What issues should get priority? What can realistically be achieved? Please join us for a webinar on TTTC!
