Oncology Case Studies – Recognising Red Flags in General Practice
Ringwood Private Hospital invites General Practitioners to attend this live, online and interactive meeting presented by Dr Anuj Bohra, Mr Kevin McMillan, Mr Andy Simm and facilitated by Dr Lionel Lim.

This webinar aims to provide education to GP's about red flags for diagnosing symptoms of bladder, prostate, gastric, colorectal and skin cancers, and when to refer for specialist opinion.

Learning Outcomes:
1. Analyse the relationship between heliobacter and gastric cancers, and identify signs and symptoms that require further investigation.
2. Apply information learned to recognize red flags for colorectal cancers, and will apply these when making referrals for further examination, as well as referring to national guidelines.
3. Summarise the gold standard investigations for microscopic haematuria and the clinical features that define high risk patients for developing Bladder Cancers.
4. Analyse PSA and PI RAD and Bozniak score results to determine the need to refer for specialist review.
5. Evaluate which lesions require biopsy, which lesions should be excised or which lesions should be referred immediately for specialist review, based on clinical assessment and NHMRC Guidelines.

Dr Anuj Bohra is: • Accredited to perform Gastroscopy and Colonoscopy. • Undertaking a PhD utilizing capsule endoscopy and intestinal ultrasound in inflammatory bowel disease. • A VMO gastroenterologist at Eastern Health participating in outpatient clinics, endoscopy, ward service and the acute Gastrointestinal bleeding service. I am a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon in Ringwood East and Camberwell. I specialize in Skin Cancer Surgery and Hand Surgery, and I perform general Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. My focus is on communicating with patients, treating each patient as an individual and trying to make their experience as pleasant as possible, whilst achieving optimal surgical outcomes. In my spare time I enjoy running and spending my spare time with my young family and coaching junior footy and basketball.
Dr Lionel Lim
Oncologist @Ringwood Private Hospital
Dr Lionel Lim is a medical oncologist based at Ringwood Private Hospital. He graduated from Monash University in 1996 and completed Physician training in 2002. He received advanced training in medical oncology at the Royal Melbourne and St Vincent’s Hospitals. In 2004, he worked as a research fellow at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. He has published several research papers in the area of colorectal and gastric cancers. Between 2005-2009, he completed a postgraduate research degree (MD, Uni Melb) at the Ludwig Institute of Cancer Research into the development of a serum-based biomarker for the detection of colorectal cancer. Since 2005 he has been in private practice at Ringwood Private Hospital, and is also a member of the oncology unit at Eastern Health (Maroondah Hospital). Dr Lim has a keen interest in tumours of the gastrointestinal tract (colon, rectum, pancreas, gastric, oesophagus), lung and prostate cancers.
