Learning Outcomes

By the end of this activity GP’s will be able to:

1. Explain the pathology, classification & natural history of shoulder instability
2. Summarise treatment options & rehabilitation associated with operative & non-operative management
3. Describe the physical examination & appropriate investigations to diagnose shoulder instability
4. Describe principles of major hand trauma surgery
5. Explain secondary reconstruction of complex hand surgeries Branchial plexus & nerve reanimation

Dr Ross Farhadieh is a triple board certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon. He is the immediate past and current Chief Editor of the critically acclaimed and internationally hailed reference textbooks of plastic surgery: Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery: Approaches and Techniques and Plastic Surgery: Principles & Practice.
Dr Joe Oguns
General practitioner and Medical Director @National Health Co-Operative
Dr Joe Oguns is a General practitioner and Medical director of the National Health Co-operative which operates a number of clinics in the ACT. In addition to his primary medical qualification which he obtained in Nigeria, Joe holds a Master of Medicine in Family Medicine from the University of Stellenbosch South Africa, as well as a Graduate Diploma in Occupational and Environmental Health from Monash University, Melbourne. Joe is a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General practitioners with specific interests in Geriatrics, Occupational health and Clinical governance.
