Charities Lean Forward: Be CyberSafe for Charities

Are you worried about your charity’s Cybersecurity and how your data is being handled? All Charities regardless of size process and handle large amounts of data - ensuring that this data is securely protected is of utmost importance. What can charities do to minimise cybersecurity risks especially with new work patterns resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic? What can you do if you suspect that your data has been misused or mishandled? Are your staff adequately equipped to spot potential scams that could mean a data breach? Are you doing what is necessary to service and keep your beneficiaries safe from various forms of cyber attacks and scams?

Our panel will discuss the common pitfalls in managing privacy risks, the implications, as well as key things to note when faced with data security breaches or scams.

Mr Desmond Chin (Commissioner of Charities) will give an opening address, followed by a sharing on Scams by the Singapore Police Force, Cybersecurity by Genie Sugene Gan (Head of Public Policy & Government Affairs, Asia-Pacific & Middle-East, Turkey and Africa, Kaspersky), and Knowing your Legal Rights by Jeffrey Lim (Director, Joyce A. Tan & Partners LLC). A panel discussion on possible breaches, scam tactics as well as the legal remedies to prepare and activate, will follow the sharing moderated by Andrew Lee (Assistant General Counsel, Kaplan Singapore).
