Elliot and Mike will be speaking about their transformative use of Belbin within their recruitment processes in the biomedical industry. They are joined by Bob Penney, a mentor, assessor and speaker who coaches healthcare professionals as part of the NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Programme.

(Hons), MBChB (Co-founder and CEO, @Inovus Medical) Dr Elliot Street is an award-winning clinician and the co-founder and CEO of Inovus Medical, a multi award winning designer and manufacturer of surgical training technology. Elliot completed his medical training at the University of Manchester and Oxford University Hospitals. He is an alumnus and mentor on the NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Programme, holds a position on the Liverpool City Region Innovation Board and is a recent graduate of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 small business programme. Inovus Medical is a multi award winning, venture backed, designer and manufacturer of surgical training technologies headquartered in the UK. The company was founded in 2012 with a clear purpose, to improve surgical care through connected training. Mike Kerins (Managing Director @Cambridge Bioscience) Mike is an entrepreneur who works in the life science research industry. With a background sales and marketing he has gone on to start and lead several successful businesses which have developed products and services used by researchers working in pharmaceutical and academic research laboratories. He is currently Managing Director at Cambridge Bioscience, one of the leading life science research product distributors in the UK. In 2022 Cambridge Bioscience was acquired by the Nordic Biosite Group, following which Mike also became Head of Product and Supplier Development for the group. Victoria Brown (Head of R&D @Belbin) Jo Keeler (Managing Director @Belbin) Bob Penney Bob is a results oriented international business management consultant with over 35 years of experience in the biotechnology tools and medtech industries. Having set up four companies from scratch, Bob is accomplished in many areas but his passion lies in building and developing highly effective “A” teams. He now focuses on helping companies/ organisations develop their leadership and operational teams. He is an Accredited Belbin Team Roles Facilitator and has used Belbin extensively over the last twenty years for team formation, development and recruitment in the four companies he has run. Bob has consulted for international medical and biotechnology tools clients ranging from small businesses to large companies on strategic and operational projects. He has also served as an executive coach to entrepreneurs & corporate executives and as an executive chairman plus non-executive director on boards.
