Description: This session will guide participants through the clinical reasoning for effective treatment of arm and chest wall lymphoedema and orthopaedic related swelling. The content will discuss safe prescription of Sequential Intermittent Pneumatic Compression (SIPC) and assessment of clinical effect to guide progression of settings.
Key learning objectives:
• Learn about strategies using SIPC to treat and manage swelling affecting the upper quadrants- arm, upper quadrant trunk, chest wall, and breast.
• Understand the clinical rationale of SIPC in the treatment of a range of presentations that may affect the upper quadrant.
• Learn about assessment for determining clinical effect of SIPC and clinical reasoning for setting and progression of treatment parameters.
