RCDC Webinar - Complex Maxillofacial Deformity Management: The Holland Bloorview Experience

Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital is a unique and special place for children and adolescents with complex medical issues. The dental clinic plays a crucial role in the managment of patients with special needs, cleft lip/palate, congenital deformities and acquired problems. Headed by an extremely skilled prosthodontist and staffed with orthodontists, pediatric dentists, and oral and maxillofacial surgeons, the team involves themselves in amazing care for these wonderful kids. This presentation will showcase the work being performed and hopes to engage the viewer in strategies to support and/or manage these cases.

This session will be moderated by Dr. James Noble.

Dr. Marco F. Caminiti
Fellow in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery @RCDC
Originally from Montreal, Dr. Caminiti went to McGill University for Undergraduate studies in Anatomy, then completed his dental studies. He was in the Armed Forces and served at the UN. He came to Toronto for his OMFS residency. After residency he was a Surgical Education Fellow in the division of Surgery at the University of Toronto. He continued as the Walter Lorenz Fellow in Orthognathic Surgery in the Division of OMFS at the Toronto General Hospital. He is currently Associate Professor, Head and Program Director of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Toronto; Head of OMFS at Humber River Hospital; Surgical Director at the Cleft Lip Palate Program at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital; Chef de Mission, Face the Future Foundation, Addis Ababa. Dr. Caminiti’s practice is focused on surgical orthodontic and virtual planning for the management of patients with facial deformities. His research focus is on the development and assessment of surgical skill.
Dr. James Noble
Director and Fellow in Orthodontics @RCDC
Dr. James Noble completed his BSc and DDS degrees at the University of Toronto and his specialty orthodontic training at the University of Manitoba. In addition to his private orthodontic practice in Toronto, he is a staff orthodontist at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital, serves as the orthodontist for the Children’s Aid Society of Toronto and is the Director of Orthodontics for the Royal College of Dentists of Canada.
