Description
The Graduate Prosthodontics Program at the University of British Columbia is celebrating its ten-year anniversary. To mark this great occasion, we are pleased to welcome four graduate students currently enrolled in the program, who will present on various topics.

Dr. Mohammed Alsammarraie: The Use of Virtual Interocclusal Records to Detect, Analyze and Manage Occlusal Instability

Dr. Sadaf Kashani

Dr. Sadaf Kashani was born to a family of health practitioners in Iran and immigrated to Vancouver, BC, with her family where she started her path to become a dentist. She first completed a bachelor's degree in General Sciences before getting her DMD degree from UBC in 2019. Since graduation, she has enjoyed a successful general practice in New Westminster, BC. After 2 years in practice, she decided to further her career and joined the UBC Graduate Prosthodontics Program at UBC, and she is currently in the 2nd year. Outside of dentistry, Dr. Kashani likes to dance, travel, go to the movies and indulge in various cuisines from around the world.

Dr. Marijana Eic studied dentistry at the University of Toronto and worked in private practice for 12 years before returning to school for specialty training. She is currently a second-year resident in the Graduate Prosthodontics Program at the University of British Columbia. She is an active member of the American College of Prosthodontists, the British Columbia Dental Association, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and past president of the West Toronto Dental Society.

Dr. Faisal Al Assadi is a third year MSc candidate and Graduate Prosthodontics resident at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of British Columbia. He completed his Bachelor degree of Dental Surgery, BDS, in Saudi Arabia and obtained a PG Certificate in Health Professions Education at the University of Glasgow, UK.

Mohammed Alsammarraie (BDS) has been a practicing dentist since 2010. His main areas of interest are functional occlusion, articulation, virtual interocclusal records, jaw biomechanics and occlusal stress analysis in implant-supported prosthetics. Mohammed is a 2nd year Graduate Prosthodontics Resident at UBC.

Chris Wyatt is Professor and Chair of the Division of Prosthodontics & Dental Geriatrics in the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of British Columbia. Dr. Wyatt graduated with a DMD degree from the University of British Columbia in 1986, a diploma in Prosthodontics in 1995, and an MSc in Dentistry in 1996 from the University of Toronto. He is a past President of the Association of Prosthodontists of Canada and the British Columbia Society of Prosthodontists and is a Fellow of RCDC.
