Previous webinars have raised the acute security concerns in protecting high rise buildings, whether that be dwellings or business buildings. In the former people have been in isolation and offences in the home have become more difficult to police even though because of working from home people may be victims or offenders while working. In office blocks we have heard about the difficulties of getting supplies to higher floors and protecting them en route; the benefits and difficulties of enforcing a clean desk policy; the benefits of touchless doors and keypads and the practicalities of making changes to new systems; the need for new standards and policies and procedures relating to the surveillance of employees; and then there are the new types of terrorism threats. These are merely examples. In this webinar we will:
• Examine the range of threats that Covid-19 poses for high rise buildings?
• Discuss the weaknesses exposed in approaches to high rise building security
• Suggest ways forward in thinking differently in making people safe at work
