This webinar will give an overview of research demonstrating how organisations can use widely available, low-cost technology to provide greater protection to employees as they return to work.
The proposed approach - test, tag and trace – if carefully implemented and properly communicated to employees – will enable businesses to re-open more effectively during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dr. Martinez and Dr. Honary will present an overview of their research, highlighting how the approach:
- Helps to securely and safely trace users with the support of digital technologies
- Helps to limit infection spread through monitoring and manage employee movements, segments personnel into groups and supports the coordination of sanitation activities
- Gives employees clear guidance of required behaviours, ensuring rules are clearly and properly explained, minimising the number of infringements
- Provides visibility of employees whilst they are at work acting as a digital twin, whilst being robust in ensuring the privacy of individuals the moment they leave the site
The research that forms the basis for this approach has evolved from the EPSRC Optimising Me Manufacturing System (OMMS) project focussing on using wearable devices to treat cancer.
