Aortic Stenosis - Symptoms, Causes, Management, Treatment
Knox Private Hospital invites General Practitioners to attend this live, online and interactive meeting presented by Dr Dinesh Natarajan and Associate Professor Sonny Palmer.

Activity ID 248193

This webinar provides an update for GP's on the diagnosis, treatment and management options available for Aortic Stenosis, including TAVI, where open heart surgery is too high risk.

GP's manage patients who have heart issues and who have experienced chest pain. Knowing how to identify, assess and manage patients prior to referral to a Cardiologist is vital in the overall care of patients.

Learning Outcomes:

Through this activity, GP's will be able to:

- Evaluate the causes of Aortic stenosis linked significant morbidity and mortality.
- Discuss how the burden of Aortic Stenosis is set to increase with an ageing population.
- Identify that severe Aortic stenosis is a treatable malignant heart valve condition.
- Implement auscultation of each patient and when a murmur is heard, to consider a referral and/or echocardiogram
