Whitepaper Launch - Principals' Perspectives on the Impact of COVID-19: Pathways Toward Equity in Australian Schools

Pivot Professional Learning in partnership with the Coalition of Australian Principals is pleased to announce the launch of our latest research based on a nation-wide survey of more than 450 school leaders, ‘Principal Perspectives on the Impact of COVID-19: Pathways Toward Equity in Australian Schools’.

Our national survey of school principals has laid bare the extreme challenges faced by Australian schools and students during the continuing COVID-19 pandemic – but has also revealed unexpected benefits that could lead to permanent changes in the way we run schools and educate our children.

Our latest research reveals:
+ Three out of four principals developed stronger relationships with teachers and families during the 2020 school year
+ 97% of principals experienced an increase in their workload, yet only 30% reported a decrease in job satisfaction
+ 65% of high-ICSEA school principals reported a successful transition to online learning in comparison to only 30% of low-ICSEA school principals
+ Principals believe the top three areas for investment in 2021 are teacher training, social workers and school psychologists
