Join LGBT YouthLine for a panel focused on how the social service sector in Ontario can #DoBetter.
During this webinar, YouthLine staff will share information about the 7 Recommendations, with special emphasis on recommendations related to the social service sector. We will then be joined by an incredible panel of 2SLGBTQ+ youth, and a moderator with in-depth knowledge of the social services sector. There will also be space for folks who join us to ask questions.
Our moderator for the panel will be:
Rosy Douge Charles (they/them). Rosy is a professor, practicing doula who is currently living on unseeded and unsurrendered Algonquin Territory (Ottawa) Rosy is interested in the intersections of racial, food and gender justice. As the outreach coordinator for Aids Committee of Ottawa, Rosy focuses on the intersections of Black people's lives. They like to uncover the persecutions that affect Black women’s lives like the carceral system, education, health, art, sex, parenthood, environmental degradation, and disability justice. Rosy is a graduate of the University of Ottawa in Women's and Gender Studies.
While this launch is open to anyone who wishes to attend, we especially encourage those in decision making positions within the social service sector to attend. This includes, but is not limited to: board members, directors, managers, and all levels of elected officials, among others. We also encourage front-line workers to attend, including social workers, counsellors, navigators, harm reduction workers, those who work with houseless folks, and youth workers, among others.
