Cullen’s primary areas of expertise include global macro portfolio construction, quantitative risk management, monetary economics, financial accounting and behavioral finance. Prior to establishing his own business, Cullen worked at Merrill Lynch Global Wealth Management where he worked on a team overseeing $500MM+ in assets under management. Upon leaving Merrill Lynch, Cullen managed a private investment partnership which took advantage of reporting irregularities ahead of major corporate events. The strategy generated substantial positive alpha (high risk adjusted returns) without a single negative year of returns from 2005-2011. He formed Orcam Financial Group in 2012 to help better serve the much needed retail space with sophisticated but low fee asset management and financial planning services.

Stephen Chen is the founder and CEO of NewRetirement, an online retirement planning service focused on helping people prepare for and make the most of their resources in retirement. His experience spans financial services, education, investing, and retirement planning across firms that include Charles Schwab, Wells Fargo, Embark, SEC Ventures, and Dimensional Fund Advisors. Chen has worked in Fortune 500 firms and has also started venture-backed firms that have raised $40 million in capital. He is an honors graduate from Boston University with a bachelor of science in systems engineering.

Rob Berger

Rob has been writing about personal finance and investing since 2007. After spending 25 years as a securities lawyer in Washington DC, he retired in 2016 to continue running my personal finance blog full time.
