Northern Beaches Hospital invites General Practitioners to attend this live, online and interactive meeting presented by Dr Michele Kwik, Dr Andrew Pickering and facilitated by Dr Jonathan Adams.

This activity will advise and discuss the processes involved in egg freezing and patient outcomes and effectively support and manage older pregnant women and those trying to conceive.

Learning Outcomes:
1. Discuss options for fertility preservation.
2. Explain the process involved in elective oocyte cryopreservation.
3. Discuss fertility outcomes following elective oocyte cryopreservation.
4. Demonstrate preconception counselling and health optimisation.
5. Differentiate prenatal screening tests.
6. Manage pregnancy complications which increase with maternal age.

Dr Michele Kwik
Fertility Specialist @Northern Beaches Hospital
Michele is a fertility specialist with expertise in reproductive medical and surgical techniques for the treatment of recurrent miscarriage and infertility for both men and women and takes great pride in her thorough, caring approach. Her specialist practice also assists patients to manage premature ovarian insufficiency, fertility preservation in cancer patients and Michele is an integral part of IVFAustralia’s PCOS clinic at Sydney city and Greenwich assisting women of all ages manage this condition. Michele graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with Honours at the University of New South Wales. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Obstetrics and Gynaecologists with 5 years of specialist training in both Sydney and the UK.
Dr Andy Pickering
Obstetrician and Gynaecologist @Northern Beaches Hospital
Dr Andrew Pickering trained initially in the UK. Andy then commenced postgraduate training at Leicester and Leeds before relocating to Sydney where he completed further training at Royal North Shore Hospital culminating in being awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG). Dr Pickering uses his experience in both the NHS and Public Health care here in Australia to support women in all their birth choices. Andy is happy supporting both high and low-risk mothers through their journey into motherhood. Andy recognises the importance of caring for women experiencing complications of early pregnancy and is happy to arrange urgent consults in this area. Dr Pickering supports all options available for management of early pregnancy complications, including surgical, medical and conservative management. Andy has an interest in Minimally Invasive Gynaecology, Gynaecological Laparoscopy and Endometriosis.
Dr Jonathan Adams
General Practitioner @Northern Beaches Medical Centre
Jon grew up in New Zealand but moved to Sydney to study Medicine at the University of Sydney in 2002. He has worked as a GP since 2009 and completed his General Practice Fellowship in Far North NSW in 2010. He has worked both in Australia and overseas as a GP. He has served the Northern Beaches community since 2015. Jon is the Principal GP at Northern Beaches Medical Centre and was involved in setting up the practice before Northern Beaches Hospital opened. He enjoys all aspects of General practice but has a particular interest in Paediatrics having completed the Diploma in Child Health. He enjoys trail running, mountain biking and swimming.
