Our goal is to provide inspiration on the value of objective colour assessment and how software like PressSign 10 coupled with the right spectrophotometer can help you get better, quicker.

There’s a world of difference between, ‘That’s good enough’ subjective quality control and a professionally measured and managed approach. It isn’t hard if you have suitable measuring equipment and software to guide your actions. You can benefit from building workflows for products and processes that are predictable and with a little more effort can verify your work to agreed specifications from FOGRA, GRACoL or you’re in-house tolerances.

He has consulted on and project managed some of the most successful digital pre-media systems in the UK. The Missing Horse Consultancies main area of expertise is designing bespoke colour managed page workflows from image and page creation, PDF standards and production, PDFs, proofing and on to ISO standard printing conditions at press. He is active in a number of industry groups, including chairmen the BPIF Steering Group for the BPIF Colour Quality Scheme certification, UK representative on the international ISO TC130, WG13 and WG3 committee for printing standards certification and a member of the UK ISO TAG committee for ISO printing standards and is a regular speaker at seminars and conferences. He is also FESPA’s Colour Ambassador. Fred Thornton (Technical Sales Consultant @Bodoni Systems Ltd) Fred Thornton is the Technical Sales Consultant for Bodoni Systems Ltd, a colour management consultancy that specialises in the implementation of the ISO 12647 printing standard across the graphic arts industry. Fred has been at Bodoni Systems Ltd for the past 14 years.
