This webinar is aimed at business owners and their advisers and will discuss how financial planners can play a key role in helping you to create a strategy to achieve your future goals and objectives.

The speakers will discuss both technical and broader aspects of creating a financial plan, including maximising tax efficiency and some of the tools that can help to answer the important question: is now the right time to exit?

Using case studies, David Vallance, Chartered Financial Planner, Scotland will look at the key personal questions to consider including: how much is enough; can I retire now; and what happens if there is a market crash?

We will then open to a panel conversation with Amanda Browning, Head of Financial Services, Bristol to discuss:

• Use of different structures to maximise tax
efficiency.
• How to determine an investment strategy
suitable for a range of objectives; and
• Creating a legacy.

He joined the graduate trainee scheme at Scottish Amicable in 1997 have attained a first class honours business degree from Strathclyde University. Since then David has worked in advice roles for Standard Life and Aviva. David joined the firm in November 2011. David specialises in giving advice to owner-managed business clients and also to the public sector, particularly with regard to the University pension scheme (USS). David looks after a large client bank for the Glasgow office and has a particular interest in estate and inter-generational planning. Away from work David coaches grassroots football, plays golf (badly) and has a debilitating hereditary illness (also known as supporting Partick Thistle). Amanda Browining (Managing Partner @Smith & Williamson) Amanda has significant experience in providing holistic financial advice to individuals, corporate, and trustees. She helps clients on a broad range of areas including protecting their wealth, retirement planning, investment structuring and has a particular interest in advising on complex tax and succession planning. Amanda has been advising private clients and trusts on all aspects of their financial planning for over 20 years. Amanda is also experienced in providing advice on the structuring of investments for tax efficiency and has a particular interest in succession and family financial planning.
