Lorenz CLAES
Senior Naval Architect @GTT
Graduated 1991 in Naval Architecture (Msc.) from Hamburg Technical University. He worked nearly 20 years in French & German shipyards, designing various ship-types such as ferries, cruise-ships, research vessels, chemical- & gas-tankers and offshore units. Naval Architect, Sales manager and in Business Development at Chantiers-de-l’Atlantique, he joined the GTT commercial department in 2012, developing innovative ship-design solutions for the LNG industry. He is a French-German citizen.
Manasés Tello Ruiz
Research Scientist @HSVA
Manasés Tello Ruiz joined the Manoeuvring and Seakeeping Department at HSVA as a project manager and research scientist in October 2020, after nine years’ experience with Flanders Hydraulics Research and Ghent University in Belgium. At HSVA Dr. Tello Ruíz is mainly dedicated to manoeuvring and seakeeping compliance investigations with national and international regulations. He also works on topics such as digital twin concepts, mathematical modelling of ship dynamics and the application of artificial intelligence to ship hydrodynamics. His background in manoeuvring, seakeeping and navigation in shallow and confined waters has been an important asset to the planning, evaluation and execution of challenging investigations.
Julien Boulland
Global Market Leader Sustainable Shipping @Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore
Julien Boulland holds the position of Global Market Leader Sustainable Shipping within Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore. He has been in the company for 16 years with a 10 year stint in South east Asia. He has worked on various aspects of LNG in shipping related to Classification, Certification, Regulatory Compliance and Innovation, being involved in assessment of new LNG ship designs (LNG Carriers, LNG-fuelled ships, LNG-Power Barges, FSRU), in project management of FSRUs conversion, and in technical advisory for LNG shipping projects. He frequently delivers workshops and trainings on technical aspects of LNG shipping and Code compliance (IGC Code and IGF Code) and is a frequent speakers to forums and conferences. Julien is naval architect by trade, holds a MSc. in Maritime Engineering Science from the University of Southampton and a MSc. in Engineering from the Ecole des Mines de Nancy, in France.
