Elder abuse and neglect takes place in the context of the family as an important social unit. Family Systems Theory offers a valuable lens to inform and guide elder abuse & neglect practice and interventions. Core concepts will be reviewed, and application to practice discussed to address recognized gaps between theory and practice.
