Today's Agencies are facing a more uncertain future than ever. A confounding wave of technologies is washing over them, upending ways of working and the fabric of work and commerce itself. Add to this a decade of services commoditization coupled with new competitors, including management consultancies and others within the client’s own organization.
Agencies today are attempting to use techniques like service productization and value-pricing strategies that can have some success, but they are small boats in what is now a large, turbulent sea. Specialization and verticalization also offer promise, but simultaneously abandoning the benefits of diversification.
Add to this the challenges of defining an effective post-pandemic workplace model, and its implications upon culture and the ability to attract and retain talent.
What will the Agencies of the Future look like? As is the case today, there will be many models, and they will look very different from each other and today’s typical agency. In this presentation, we’ll dig into many of the key decisions and forces that will shape the evolution of our industry, including:
- Finding the high ground: The evolving shape of the market for knowledge work services.
- Being different: What will create true uniqueness in agency service offerings?
- Redefining strategy: It is not about writing “strategy.”
- Competing by how you deliver: How positioning, brand, and experience should combine.
- Presence, structure, and roles: How the new landscape will shape agencies’ organizational structure and style
