Imaging Requirements for Guided Surgery
CBCT scanning, intraoral scanning and stone model imaging protocols will be discussed. Multiple cases will be shown to demonstrate the accurate image acquisition necessary to perform guided surgery while discussing how to avoid common mistakes that can delay the surgery date, inconvenience the patient or lead to misplacement of implants. Dual scanning protocol will be discussed.

Dr. Cleber Silva
DDS, OMFR, FICOI, FAAIP @Radiology Club
Dr. Cleber Silva is a graduate of Columbia University and a specialist in oral & maxillofacial. After practicing general and implant dentistry for 13 years, Dr. Silva became a faculty member at the College of Dental Medicine of Columbia University and was recently the Interim Division Director of Maxillofacial Radiology and Course Director of Oral Radiology. His scientific interests are the clinical application of CBCT technology, virtual planning & 3D printing of surgical guides and templates and development of a non-ionizing radiation clinical dental imaging system. He has a patent pending for a pre-clinical dental training device that produces radiographic images without the use of ionizing radiation. Dr. Silva has received numerous teaching accolades from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine and is currently a NIH Co-Investigator. He is a fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantology (ICOI), and member of the American Academy of Oral & Maxillofacial Radiology.
