ISE Webinar: GHD Diagnosis and Management: Who to test and how to treat?
This session will provide an overview of the diagnosis and therapy of patients with GHD in adulthood focusing on diagnostic tests, hormone interactions and the monitoring of efficacy and safety.

1) Discuss the current recommendations when deciding what patients to test for GHD.
2) Review the validated tests for the diagnosis of GHD and their interpretation.
3) Consider the important interactions between GH with other hormone axes.
4) Assess strategies for evaluating efficacy and safety in long-term management.

Professor Ken Ho
Department of Endocrinology, St. Vincents Hospital, Sydney, Australia
Ken Ho is emeritus professor, Garvan Institute of Medical Research and consultant endocrinologist, St. Vincent’s Hospital Sydney. His research interests are on pituitary medicine and the neuroendocrine control of metabolic health. He is a past-president of the GH Research Society, the Pituitary Society and the Endocrine Society of Australia. He is the recipient of the 2000 Visiting Trust Professor and the 2008 Asia Oceania Medal of the British Endocrine Society.
Cheri L. Deal, PhD, MD, FRCPC
Cheri Deal is a recently retired tenured professor at the Université de Montréal and a Pediatric Endocrinologist. Her research interests at the Research Center of the Mother-Child University Teaching Hospital Sainte Justine include molecular and clinical aspects of the GH-IGF axis including GH deficiency. She has a long-standing interest in understanding and treating rare pediatric endocrine conditions such as Prader-Willi Syndrome, Turner Syndrome, APS1(APECED) and rare pediatric cancers. She is a past-president of the Canadian Society of Endocrinology and Metabolism (CSEM) and of the Canadian Pediatric Endocrine Group and has been a Council Member of the GH Research Society and the International Society of Endocrinology. 2013 Harvey Guyda CSEM Educator of the year award and the 2017 Robert Volpé CSEM Distinguished Service Award for her contributions in clinical care, research, administration, and teaching.
