Spirited Conversations with Jamie Barton
Join us January 25 at noon EST for our first broadcast of "Spirited Conversations: Behind the Scores". Eavesdrop on Atlanta Master Chorale Artistic Director Eric Nelson and world renowned mezzo-soprano, Jamie Barton as they provide a behind-the-scenes look at Jamie’s path to the world stage and her participation in the choral world during her music studies.

American opera singer, Jamie Barton, also known as “Opera’s Nose Studded Rock Star,” is not only a critically acclaimed mezzo-soprano, but also a force for good. She uses her powerful voice on and off the stage, sharing her love and care for the community and lifting up many marginalized groups and individuals.

This will be a live virtual interview. Guests will have an opportunity for Q&A following the session. The event is free to attend, but we are accepting donations to cover the costs of our Virtual Concert Hall programming (suggested $10). Dr. Eric Nelson
Artistic Director @Atlanta Master Chorale
Dr. Eric Nelson has served as artistic director of the Atlanta Master Chorale since 1999. He brings extensive training in voice and choral conducting from Houghton College, Westminster Choir College and Indiana University along with experience conducting choirs and clinics around the world. Dr. Nelson constantly finds effective ways to help celebrate the gift of singing – as he says – “shoulder to shoulder, voice to voice, one voice lost in another, each agreeing upon something beyond themselves.” Dr. Nelson is currently Director of Choral Studies at Emory University, where he is a recent recipient of the distinguished Arts and Humanities Crystal Apple Award for Excellence in Teaching.
